I've just finished reading The Dawkins Delusion by Alister McGrath. It is a response to Richard Dawkins' book The God Delusion. Mr. McGrath has doctorates in micro-biology and philosophy at Oxford. He is also a former atheist who has become a Christian.
Mr. McGrath expresses deep regard for Dawkins' contributions to science, but reveals how Dawkins' latest book is neither scientific nor true. He shows how Dawkins uses bad or outdated science to make points. He also reveals Dawkins tenuous grasp of anthropology, or even what is in the Bible. Evidently Dawkins quotes bits of the Bible incorrectly or attributes passages erroneously.
This is a slim tome and easy to read. I appreciated this balanced approach to an ideological opponent.
